About Us
The University of Fairfax (UoF) is the only graduate institution in the nation with a singular focus on cybersecurity. UoF was established to address the global priority to meet the ever-changing and increasing challenges in this sector, including a projection by (ISC)² of cybersecurity job growth of 2.1M through 2015.
The University of Fairfax supports the cybersecurity community by providing IT professionals with quality, practitioner-oriented, learner-centered graduate programs which produce applied research in enterprise management, focusing on Information Assurance and Information Security. UoF offers specialized online graduate programs in cybersecurity and information assurance including:

We are very proud of our graduates whose list of accomplishments continues to grow. UoF alumni hold senior cybersecurity positions with major employers in the federal and private sectors. They have been appointed to faculty positions at major universities; received promotions to subcabinet offices in the U.S. government and conducted dissertation research in major federal agencies. They have presented internationally, published in peer-reviewed journals and have even been cited by the White House.
Since its inception in 2002, in response to 9/11, the University has:
- Consistently achieved student and alumni satisfaction ratings over 95%
- Established a premium faculty of cybersecurity practitioners who have developed a unique, project- driven, comprehensive cybersecurity curriculum
- Enabled career growth for students and alumni with employers including: Northrop Grumman, CSC, Lockheed Martin, Wells Fargo, Microsoft, ManTech, Verizon, NSA, US Department of Treasury and Veterans Affairs.
- Provided cybersecurity certification support enabling students to earn high demand cybersecurity certifications: CISSP, NSA 4011 and NSA 4012
- Established an online community of 40, 000 + IT/cybersecurity professionals
