The University of Fairfax offers multiple sources of tuition financing for eligible students, including fellowships, scholarships and loans. Fellowship awards vary based on the availability of funds each term. Program and Lifetime Maximums

Students qualify for a maximum level of financial assistance based on program of study, merit, and/or financial need. The total amount awarded to a student may have multiple sources of financial assistance allocated against that maximum.

Forms of Financial Assistance

Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA)

The University has met Department of Defense (DoD) eligibility requirements to participate in the MyCAA Financial Assistance Program. This program provides up to $6000 in financial assistance to military spouses who are pursuing degree programs leading to employment in portable career fields. Spouses of Active Duty members of the DoD and activated members of the National Guard and Reserve Components are eligible. Eligible spouses can establish a MyCAA account by visiting https://aiportal.acc.af.mil/mycaa/.

Employer Tuition Reimbursement/ Direct Billing

Many employers reimburse their employees for tuition. Students should contact their supervisor or employee benefits office to determine if tuition reimbursement is available. For those students whose companies finance their education, a direct billing arrangement between the employer and the University may be arranged.

Aladdin Fellowship
The University has established the Aladdin Fellowship Fund on behalf of Aladdin Knowledge Systems in recognition of its support for the University of Fairfax. Aladdin Fellowship awards are based on merit and/or need. Students must remain in good academic standing and meet financial obligations to the University in order to continue to receive fellowship disbursements. Cyber Intel Fellowship
Fellowship awards are based on merit. Students must remain in good academic standing and meet financial obligations to the University in order to continue to receive scholarship disbursements. Please contact your Admissions Officer for more information.

Cyber Security Policy Fellowship
The University has established the Cyber Security Policy Fellowship Fund to support research that is needed to improve cyber security policy development. Preference is given to individuals who demonstrate a capability and motivation to undertake cyber security policy- related research. Cyber Security Policy Fellowship awards are based on merit and/or need. Students must remain in good academic standing and meet financial obligations to the University in order to continue to receive fellowship disbursements. FISMA Fellowship
The University has established the FISMA Fellowship Fund to support research that is needed to improve FISMA compliance. Preference is given to individuals who demonstrate a capability and motivation to undertake FISMA compliance-related projects. FISMA Fellowship awards are based on merit and/or need. Students must remain in good academic standing and meet financial obligations to the University in order to continue to receive fellowship disbursements. GSN Fellowship
The University has established the GSN Fellowship Fund in conjunction with Government Security News (GSN), a resource for up-to-date information serving a community of over 40,000 security professionals. GSN Fellowship awards are based on merit. Preference is given to individuals whose focus of interest is the government security sector. Students must remain in good academic standing and meet financial obligations to the University in order to continue to receive fellowship disbursements. HIPAA Fellowship
The University has established the HIPAA Fellowship Fund to support research that is needed to improve HIPAA compliance. Preference is given to individuals who demonstrate a capability and motivation to undertake HIPAA compliance-related projects. HIPAA Fellowship awards are based on merit and/or need. Students must remain in good academic standing and meet financial obligations to the University in order to continue to receive fellowship disbursements. Scholarships

CISSP Best Practices Scholarship
The University has established the CISSP Best Practices Scholarship to support and encourage cyber security professionals to obtain the CISSP certification. This scholarship applies to IC7000, the (ISC)2 Official CISSP Review Seminar as part of the CISSP Best Practices graduate certificate. Students must be in good academic standing and meet financial obligations to the University in order to receive the scholarship. Please contact your Admissions Officer for more information.

Information Security Certification Scholarship
The University of Fairfax has established an Information Security Certification Scholarship Fund for degree-seeking applicants who hold selected, recognized information security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, and CISA. Information Security Certification Scholarships serve to encourage information security professionals to advance their careers in order to increase the security of public and private information systems. Only certifications held prior to enrollment in a University of Fairfax degree program are eligible for consideration. Students must remain in good academic standing and meet financial obligations to the University in order to continue to receive scholarship disbursements. NSA Certification Scholarship
The NSA has validated the University of Fairfax curriculum as mapping 100% to the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) National Standards 4011 and 4012. To support and encourage information security professionals to obtain these certifications, the University has established the NSA Certification Scholarship Fund. Scholarship awards are based on merit. Students must remain in good academic standing and meet financial obligations to the University in order to continue to receive scholarship disbursements. Sallie Mae

Institutional Financing
The University offers institutionally supported loans and payment plans for students based on merit and/or need. To obtain an application, email the Financial Services Coordinator at studentfinance@ufairfax.net.
