You have two objectives when you successfully
execute your career transition plan. First, you
want a new position in a rapidly growing, high-demand
career path—Information Assurance. Second,
you want to position yourself for a promotion.
To accomplish the first, you can follow the example
of the nurse described above.
In order to obtain your promotion, you will find that a graduate degree-an MSISM or Doctorate-can provide you with the recognition you need. Ideally,
the program that enables you to effect your career
transition successfully will also propel you
towards your graduate degree. In other words,
you want:
-
Career change first
-
Promotion
second
The education you receive in order to
effect career change, if properly selected,
can also
earn you graduate credits. Those
credits not only will enable you to advance
your career,
but also should be fully applicable
towards your graduate degree. That graduate
degree
will help
you to earn your next promotion.
